Frédéric Post est un artiste plasticien et une figure incontournable des scènes nocturnes à Genève. Il est le fondateur du label de musique «Miracol» et l’inventeur du mode de production de ces disques en colle. Il est connu au-delà des frontières européennes pour ses soirées au «Motel Campo», ainsi que sa programmation musicale durant le festival «Mos Espa».
Frédéric Post a longtemps œuvré pour la reconnaissance d’environnements alternatifs et autogérés. Entrepreneur engagé, il se positionne avec une pratique critique de l’événementiel, ses modes de consommation et les définitions de la fête. En se jouant des codes et des modes, il a co-programmé lors de sa résidence à l’Institut suisse de Rome, le festival «Mezzo Cielo» sur le toit de l’institution. Il n’a jamais assisté Gianni Motti lors d’un marathon, mais a réalisé un record du monde du dessin en longueur en papier.
Fondateur de nombreux collectifs, il a œuvré pour la création des ateliers de l’usine Kugler, du Grand Conseil de la Nuit, des ateliers du Laboratoire de Création (Motel Campo), de la BIG Biennale.
Chez Boabooks, il présente des détournements graphiques et esthétiques, des objets magiques et oniriques, autant de citations d’une histoire locale des raves et des explorations sur plusieurs générations.
Frédéric Post is a visual artist and a key figure in Geneva’s nightlife scene. He is the founder of the music label «Miracol» and the inventor of its unique glue-based record production method. He is known beyond Europe for his parties at Motel Campo, as well as his musical programming during the Mos Espa festival.
Frédéric Post has long been an advocate for the recognition of alternative and self-managed environments. A committed entrepreneur, he takes a critical stance towards events, their consumption patterns, and the very definitions of celebration. Playing with established codes and trends, he co-programmed the «Mezzo Cielo» festival on the institution’s rooftop during his residency at the Swiss Institute in Rome. He has never assisted Gianni Motti in a marathon, but he does hold a world record for the longest drawing on paper.
Founder of numerous collectives, he worked to create the workshops at the Kugler factory, the Grand Council of the Night, the workshops at the Creative Laboratory (Motel Campo), and the BIG Biennale. At Boabooks, he presents graphic and aesthetic reinterpretations, magical and dreamlike objects, all of which are references to a local history of raves and explorations spanning several generations.
Boabooks published Anonymous Engravings on Ecstasy Pills, Post Vinyle, Wallpaperism and Untitled with the artist.
