Izet Sheshivari – 28 Boabooks

When artists' books are exhibited, they often become venerated objects, which undermines their purpose. Izet Sheshivari manually cut circles through each page of a selection of 28 Boabooks and displayed each circle in the order of the pages on an 18m. long wall at the Caen School of Applied Art. This radical intervention in the bodies of these books was intended to playfully undermine any veneration of the books and also to reveal a construction or internal structure of the work that is not otherwise visible.
